Kingston Maurward College is located on the outskirts of Dorchester within the beautiful grounds of a historic Georgian stately house. The college provides a wide range of courses but is primarily concerned with Agricultural skills such as Equine studies, Horticulture and Animal Conservation.

The Animal Sciences facility helps students learn more about the welfare of local wildlife. The building contains several classrooms, a new ICT suite and specialist rooms for nocturnal animals, amphibians and even an aquatics room, allowing the students to be hands on. The new building also has a dog grooming training centre that will be open to the public.

The £3.5million purpose built Studio School resulted from a recent government initiative to provide a network of 44 schools across England to help prepare young people for the workplace. This involved employers in all aspects of the school, including forming the curriculum, mentoring and providing work placements.

The new school provides a specialist environment for land-based sciences in a vocational and academic format for students between 14 and 19 years old.

The building houses several classrooms, an ICT suite, an open plan studio space, a greenhouse and specialist science classrooms to cater for 200 students. The design incorporates a steel portal frame, structural deck and a composite walling system, clad with Siberian larch timber boarding and a large array of Solar panels on the roof.
