28-30 Trinity Street lies within the Trinity Church Square conservation area, an extraordinarily well-preserved part of Southwark close to London Bridge and Borough Market. The demolition of a former pickle factory presented the opportunity of redevelopment to form a block of 22 flats and a terrace of 10 townhouses set off a new mews roadway tucked to the side of the site.
The elevations closely reflect the materials, details and proportions of the surrounding Georgian streetscape whilst the new townhouses benefit from integral basement double garages, glazed conservatories, and landscaped rear patio gardens.
Project challenges included compliance with Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 within the constraints of a tightly controlled planning and conservation area consent and managing the developers emerging aspirations as the construction progressed.
