The project continues, with the NW Block now occupied by residents and commercial users, the NE Block’s towers topped out and detailed planning approved for the final SE Block and associated landscaping.
When complete the development of over 1000 apartments will comprise a selection of high quality studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments in podium blocks and towers rising to 22 storeys. The three phases of this project also contain extensive retail and commercial space including a 250-bedroom hotel, a 4-screen cinema and a Primary Care Trust, all set in a traffic free public realm containing dramatic new sculptures and other pieces of art.
This seven-acre mixed-use development is located north of Tower Bridge and to the south east of Aldgate. The masterplan creates a high-density, inner-city neighbourhood, incorporating a robust renewable energy strategy, intensive and extensive green roofs with over 0.8 hectares of public space.
